Atmospheric skills
I understand breathing primarily as an experiential relationship with the world, not so much as a physiological or natural science question. Breathing is a continuous, experiential interaction with air, others and the world. All breathing creatures share a common atmosphere. This means, from the point of view of conscious breathing, that as breathing beings we do not only study ourselves, but all these air and breathing relationships. Breathing is our most important relationship with nature.
Human well-being is a multidimensional phenomenon. I'm talking about respiratory, sensory, physical, social, functional, psychological and spiritual well-being. Breathing enlivens all other dimensions of well-being. If the breath changes, then everything else changes with it.
How does understanding atmospheres change the relationship with oneself, others and the world? How can breathing and the openness of the air teach us hospitality towards each other?
